AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn men’s golf team is ranked 13th in the Bushnell Golfweek Preseason Coaches Poll. The Tigers are one of seven SEC teams featured on the list.
“We have another top-five schedule and are looking forward to continuing our success,” ninth-year head coach Nick Clinard said. “The team has a very high skill set. We are excited about improving each day and competing against the best. The preseason ranking shows our program is healthy and competitive nationally each and every year.”
Oklahoma State, which plays host to the 2018 NCAA Championship at Karsten Creek, is ranked No. 1 followed by Vanderbilt, Oklahoma, Baylor, Illinois, Texas, LSU, Southern California, Oregon and Florida.
Wake Forest is No. 11 ahead of UNLV, Auburn, Stanford, Virginia, Texas A&M, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Alabama and Florida State.
Arizona State is 21st followed by Texas Tech, Kent State, Pepperdine and Georgia.
The Tigers enter the 2017-18 season as one of only six teams in the nation to make six consecutive NCAA Championship appearances along with Florida State, Illinois, Oklahoma, Southern California and Texas.
Auburn recorded the fourth best NCAA Championship finish in school history placing 11th last season at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill.
Auburn tees off the fall portion of the season at the Carpet Capital Collegiate Sept. 8-10 at the Farm Golf Club in Dalton, Ga.
