Final Results

DALLAS - No. 13 Auburn men's golf finished tied for second at 7-under in the Trinity Forest Invitational with No. 22 Texas Tech at the Trinity Forest Golf Club on Tuesday. Freshman Brandon Mancheno tied for third individually at 6-under.

No. 10 Florida, which was tied with Auburn for the lead after the second round, fired a 9-under 275 to win at 17-under par.

No. 6 Texas finished fourth at 5-under followed by No. 17 Clemson (-1), North Texas (-1), No. 9 Oregon (+8), Iowa (+11), Kansas State (+15), No. 24 Pepperdine (+16), host SMU (+22) and Ball State (+24).

"I am very pleased with the way we played against a very strong field," said Auburn head coach Nick Clinard. "Both our freshman, Brandon and Wells, had outstanding tournaments, finishing third and 11th. Jovan had a final round 69 as he and Jacob both were in the top 20."

Mancheno had an even par 71 after a pair of 68s, finishing a shot out of second and four behind the medalist, Justin Suh of Southern California. Wells Padgett tied for 11th at 1-under after a final round 74.

Sophomore Jovan Rebula tied for 17th at even par with a 2-under 69 that featured five birdies on Nos. 1, 7, 11, 13 and 14. Junior Jacob Solomon tied for 20th at 1-over with a 72 while junior Trace Crowe tied for 46th at 6-over with a 83.

Freshman Andrew Kozan, who was playing as an individual, carded his best round in his two collegiate tournaments with a 2-under 69 with five birdies at Nos. 4, 5, 10, 11 and 16. The West Palm Beach, Fla., native finished tied for 55th at 9-over.

Auburn returns to action in the Jerry Pate National Oct. 9-10 at Old Overton in Vestavia Hills, Ala.
