Auburn cross country heads to Bulldog SEC Preview

AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn cross country is set to compete at the Bulldog SEC Preview Saturday, Sept. 9 held at the UGA Golf Course in Athens, Ga.

The Tigers will be in the company of a SEC-heavy field of participants as Texas A&M, Tennessee, LSU, Georgia and the South Carolina women's team will be in attendance, as will Georgia Tech.

The men's team, fresh off a season-opening victory in the 6k at the Golden Eagle Invitational, will run the 8k as senior Wesley Pectol, junior Erik Armes, sophomore Solomon Komen and freshmen Tommy McDonough and Jack Rogers make their 2017 debuts.

Leading the way for the women's squad are junior Brenda Kigen and sophomore Andonet Cheruiyot. Kigen, a 2015 First Team All-SEC selection as a freshman, was Auburn's second-leading scorer at the 2016 SEC Championships in the women's 6k.

The men's 8k begins at 8:30 am CT with the women's 6k slated to start at 9:15 am.
