No. 13 Auburn men's golf opens season at Carpet Capital Collegiate Friday

AUBURN, Ala. - The No. 13 Auburn men's golf team will tee off the 2017-18 season at the Carpet Capital Collegiate Friday through Sunday at the par 72, 7,012-yard The Farm Golf Club in Dalton, Ga. Seven teams are ranked in the top 19 in the nation.

The 15-team field also includes No. 7 LSU, No. 10 Florida, No. 15 Virginia, No. 17 Clemson, No. 18 Georgia Tech, No. 19 Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, California, Kennesaw State, Chattanooga, Dalton State, North Florida and Troy.

Auburn's lineup consists of junior Jacob Solomon, sophomore Jovan Rebula, freshman Wells Padgett, freshman Brandon Mancheno, junior Trace Crowe and freshman Andrew Kozan, who will play as an individual.

Solomon, who was one of three Tigers to play in the 2017 U.S. Amateur in August, lost in a playoff for the 64-man match play portion. Rebula had a 72.24 stroke average last year as a freshman, had three top 10 finishes and tied for 23rd at the NCAA Championship.

Padgett was ranked as the No. 35 best prospect in the nation while Mancheno played in the U.S. Amateur, finished as the medalist in the U.S. Junior stroke play and was ranked as the No. 15 best prospect in the nation. He was a two-time Rolex AJGA All-American.

Crowe was an All-SEC second-team selection and PING All-Southeast Region pick last year with a team-best 71.82 stroke average. Kozan was a two-time Rolex AJGA All-American and ranked as the No. 17 best prospect in the nation.

Auburn will off with Clemson and Georgia Tech off No. 1 at 7:45 am CT on Friday.
