DICKSON, Tenn. - Auburn men's golf junior Ryan Knop finished runner-up at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate, carding an even-par 72 on Tuesday at the Greystone Golf Club to finish at 5-under 72-67-72-211.
Knop, a native of Pleasanton, Calif., finished just one stroke behind medalist Austin Knight of Murray State (73-67-70-210).
After carding nine birdies in the first two rounds of play, Knop tallied three more on Nos. 7, 14 and 17 on Tuesday to bring his tournament total to nine.
Three other Tigers competed as individuals in the event hosted by Austin Peay State University, with freshman Andrew Kozan posting his first career top-five finish in a 2-under 71-72-71-214 effort that tied for fourth. The West Palm Beach, Fla. product carded four birdies on Nos. 8, 10, 12 and 14 in the final round.
Junior Graysen Huff (71-76-72-219) finished t-13th while sophomore Reagan Harrell finished 18th at 5-over 75-73-73-221.
With only four individuals playing, Auburn did not compete in the event as a team. The Tigers play their final tournament of the fall Oct. 22-24 at the Tavistock Invitational in Windermere, Fla.
