AUBURN, Ala. - Fresh off another perfect weekend, the Auburn softball team will put a bow on the fall portion of its schedule with two exhibitions Sunday afternoon.
The Tigers are set to take on Central Alabama CC at 1:30 p.m. CT and Columbus State at 4 p.m. CT at Jane B. Moore Field. WEGL 91.1 will have the call from the radio booth.
"We're getting better each week," head coach Mickey Dean said. "That's our purpose right now."
With more aggressive hitting and better selection, Auburn has found its groove at the plate.
"We've had a few players that have swung the bat pretty well," Dean stated. "I think Taylon Snow has done a nice job; Alyssa Rivera and Courtney Shea have been pretty consistent; KK Crocker has really picked it up; Victoria Draper is starting to find her groove a little bit; Kendall Veach is starting to drive the ball into the gaps."
In the circle, the Tigers have been dominant all fall and had plenty of growth, according to Coach Dean.
"I've seen increased velocity from some of our pitchers and I've seen sustained velocity from others, so that's been a bonus. Each pitcher is working on a pitch that might not necessarily be their best pitch, but I've seen improvement there."
The Beat Bama Food Drive will continue Sunday afternoon. Attendees who bring a non-perishable food item will receive a food coupon to use at a local Chick-fil-A. Admission is free of charge for all fans.
