AUBURN, Ala. -- On Tuesday, the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award recognized Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham as its national Player of the Week for Week 5. Stidham finished 13 of 16 for 264 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions to help lead the Tigers past Mississippi State, 49-10, this past weekend.
The weekly honor is given to the best offensive player each week who hails from the state of Texas or who plays for a college in the Lone Star State.
Stidham, who played high school football in Stephenville, Texas, was named to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award watch list prior to the season. He'll be among the candidates considered for the annual award given at the end of the year.
The Auburn sophomore was also named Co-offensive Player of the Week by the SEC on Monday, and he was one of eight quarterbacks chosen as one of the "Stars of the Week" by the Manning Award this week.
Fans can vote for Stidham to be the Manning Award Quarterback of the Week.
