AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn head softball coach Mickey Dean and his staff has put together an elite recruiting class for the 2019 season. In just a few months on the job, Dean and his staff have signed three talented players to add to an already top-quality roster.
"The class overall is a really good offensive class," Dean said. "They're an athletic group that will fill needs on our team. They'll help our program move in the right direction by being really explosive offensively."
The Tigers have signed Aspyn Godwin, Tate Moseley and Haley Nillen.
Godwin, who hails from Daphne, Ala., is a three-time All-State selection and was picked as the Hitter of the Year while playing for Daphne High School. She hit .426 with 44 doubles and 41 home runs with 136 RBI to go along with 66 stolen bases so far in her varsity career.
"We're excited about Aspyn," Dean said. "She's going to fill some positions for us defensively, but what we're really excited about is her offense. She has great power and consistency, so we're looking forward to her breaking in the lineup."

The lone outfielder signed in the class, Tate Moseley, is a standout from Trussville, Ala. Her high on-base percentage and patience at the plate guided her to being tabbed All-State on the diamond. She also earned All-Region honors will suiting up for Hewitt-Trussville High School.
"Tate is a player with great energy," Dean said. "She's a strong hitter who's really athletic, which will be a key factor in her development. She has potential to develop into a dynamic player during her time at Auburn."

Nillen, a versatile athlete from Spring, Texas, is one of the top defensive players in the Lone Star State with a solid .983 fielding percentage behind the plate. She has also flashed her offensive prowess en route to being named an All-District performer.
"Haley has good size about her as a catcher and is a strong player," Dean stated. "She has a really good arm and great feet behind the plate. We're excited about her taking on that role for us in the future."
