AUBURN, Ala. - The Auburn men's tennis team concludes fall tournament play this weekend, with participants in both the Lakewood Ranch Dick Vitale Clay Court Classic in Lakeland, Fla., and also the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta.
Both tournaments run Friday through Sunday.
"Our team is excited to finish off our fall schedule with a couple of great tournaments," Auburn head coach Bobby Reynolds said. "The players who are going to the Dick Vitale Classic will be playing on clay, so it's an amazing situation that we've been able to train the past two weeks on clay at our own Yarbrough Tennis Center. We are one of only three universities that have the luxury of having clay courts among the university facilities.
"This weekend will also be a chance to look forward and view our continuing success with our doubles pairings. A major part of our success in the spring will be determined by our doubles play and getting that first point on the board."
Playing in the Dick Vitale Clay Court Classic will be Carles Sarrio, Alex Rushin, Brandon Laubser and Diego Chavarria.
Michael Durham, Alex Mascioli, Edward Nguyen and Olle Thestrup will participate in the Georgia Tech Invitational.
Auburn will open the spring dual match season Sunday, January 14, hosting Jackson State in a pair of matches at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.
