AUBURN, Ala. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham was included on the list of semifinalists for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award on Wednesday.
The award is given annually to the nation's outstanding offensive player who was either born in Texas, graduated from a Texas high school or played at a Texas-based junior college or four-year college. The player must also exhibit the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell, including integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, community, and tenacity.
Though Stidham was born in Kentucky, he played high school football in Stephenville, Texas where he threw for 6,516 yards and 80 touchdowns.
This season ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" Stidham's first at Auburn after transferring from Baylor ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" the sophomore quarterback has thrown for 2,445 yards with 16 touchdowns and four interceptions. He currently leads the SEC in completion percentage (67.8), and he's also rushed for 102 yards and three touchdowns.
Last month, following Auburn's win over Mississippi State, Stidham was named the national Player of the Week by Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award.
The winner of the annual award will be announced in January.
