AUBURN, Ala. -- The SEC handed out their Player of the Week honors Monday, and it was no surprise to see two Auburn players -- quarterback Jarrett Stidham and defensive lineman Nick Coe -- recognized after the Tigers took down No. 1 Alabama on Saturday.
Stidham, who was playing in his first Iron Bowl, was named the SEC co-offensive player of the week. The former Baylor transfer completed 21 of his 28 passes and threw for 237 yards against one of the better defenses in college football. He also rushed for 51 yards and a critical touchdown that put Auburn ahead by two scores early in the fourth quarter.
"This is a special day for the Auburn Tigers," Stidham said after the game. "It was a lot of fun to say the least. This was my first Iron Bowl, and I didn't know what to expect. Hats off to our fans. They're the rowdiest I've ever seen. It was a great atmosphere."

Coe, who has already been the SEC freshman of the week twice this season, was named the SEC defensive lineman of the week for his efforts against Alabama. The redshirt freshman finished with five tackles, a sack and a quarterback hurry, and he and the rest of the Auburn defensive line helped contain Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Next up for Auburn is a rematch with Georgia in the SEC championship game.
