AUBURN, Ala. -- Don't look now, but Auburn has climbed into the top 10 of the College Football Playoff rankings, which were released Tuesday night.

Coming off a 42-27 at Texas A&M, the Tigers moved up four spots from No. 14 to No. 10, and they are right back in the playoff conversation with significant games remaining against No. 1 Georgia on Saturday and No. 2 Alabama two weeks later. The college football world will be centering in on Jordan-Hare Stadium two of the next three Saturdays.

Not that the players will notice.

"That's not something that we can think about or have time to think about," Auburn running back Kerryon Johnson said Tuesday. "If we lose this week, the college football world won't care anything about us. We just have to go out there and we have to play this Saturday like it's our last game. We have to keep this thing rolling, and that's what we plan to do."

At 7-2, Auburn is the highest-ranked two-loss team in the country. More importantly, with LSU's loss to Alabama this past weekend, the Tigers once again control their own destiny in the SEC West. Win out and they can book their trip to Atlanta for a potential rematch against Georgia.

First, Auburn has to knock off the Bulldogs this Saturday (2:30 p.m. CT, CBS).
