AUBURN, Ala. - Nick Castro is joining the Auburn men's tennis coaching staff as a volunteer assistant, head coach Bobby Reynolds announced today.

An outstanding coach, Castro has worked with some of the top junior players in the nation on the instruction staff at the Tiberon Peninsula Club (TPC) in Tiberon, Calif.

"I am so excited to have Nick Castro as part of the Auburn men's tennis program," Reynolds said. "His enthusiasm and love for the game of tennis is evident every time he speaks about the sport. He is the type of coach who eats, sleeps, and lives tennis, and I know our players will love being in his presence. I look forward to the spring dual matches and having Nick as part of our team. He will be a very important addition in building the Auburn program."

Before joining TPC, Nick was head coach and owner at 360 Tennis Academy, where he worked alongside USTA national coach Brad Stine and Intercollegiate Tennis Association Hall of Famer Dave Borelli. Previously, he was the head tennis pro at Copper River (Calif.) Country Club and an assistant coach at Fresno State University.

A native of Fresno, Calif., Castro played collegiately at Fresno State, where he majored in kinesiology and coaching.

Auburn opens the spring dual match season Sunday, January 14, hosting Jackson State in a pair of matches at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.
