AUBURN, Ala. -- The coaches' All-SEC teams were announced Tuesday, and after a 10-win season in which Auburn won the West, the Tigers were well-represented.
The first team included running back Kerryon Johnson, offensive lineman Braden Smith, defensive lineman Jeff Holland, defensive back Carlton Davis and place kicker Daniel Carlson.
Johnson, who was named the AP's SEC offensive player of the year Monday, led the conference in rushing yards (1,320), rushing yards per game (120) and total touchdowns (19). The junior is the ninth different Auburn player to rush for 1,000 yards in a season since 2009.
Smith, who helped pave the way for Johnson, started all 13 games at right guard and has now started 40 consecutive games dating back to 2014.
On the defensive side, Holland emerged in Carl Lawson's place and became a game-changer for the Tigers. The junior finished among the SEC leaders with 12 tackles for loss, nine sacks, four forced fumbles and 22 quarterback hurries. And on the back end, Davis lived up to his lockdown reputation with a team-best 12 passes defended and one interception.
Carlson, a Lou Groza Award finalist for the third straight year, is tied for the SEC lead with 21 made field goals, and he also became the SEC's leading scorer earlier this season against Ole Miss.
The All-SEC second team featured quarterback Jarrett Stidham and linebacker Tre' Williams.
Stidham, in his first season with the Tigers, threw for 2,827 yards with 17 touchdowns and just four interceptions. He also leads the conference in completion percentage (66.7). Despite battling injuries all year, Williams finished with 46 tackles and 2.5 sacks. The senior also served as one of the team captains along with Smith and offensive lineman Austin Golson.
