AUBURN, Ala. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" Auburn University Director of Athletics Jay Jacobs announced today the launch of AUBURNYOU, a comprehensive student-athlete enhancement program dedicated to providing experiential learning and internship opportunities. The program supports student-athletes from recruitment, to graduation, to employment.
"Positioning our student-athletes to succeed while on campus and throughout their careers is essential to achieving our vision of being the best school for the best athletes", Director of Athletics Jay Jacobs said. "AUBURNYOU takes all of the programs we offer and places them in one easy-to-use location."
AUBURNYOU is a developed game plan for success that concentrates on academic strategies, personal growth, leadership development and career planning. AUBURNYOU gives student-athletes the opportunity to enhance their personal brand, allowing for growth throughout their collegiate and post-collegiate careers.
Derrick Brown, a sophomore member of the football team, says, "AUBURNYOU reflects Mr. Jacobs never-ending commitment to develop us so that we succeed on the field of play, in the classroom, and most importantly, in life when our playing days are over."
Current student-athletes will participate in enhancement programs which provide opportunities to increase their personal and professional development skills. Services include CONNECT, a leadership program, Talk About it Tuesday Forums, and Tiger TrACS (Transitioning Athletes for Career Success).
Former student-athletes can stay connected with Auburn through post-graduate programs developed for networking and mentoring. Alumni student-athletes will have a mechanism to foster relationships from sport to sport, and class to class. Most importantly, AUBURNYOU helps cultivate on-the-job training for current student-athletes through a newly created internship program.
