AUBURN, Ala. - Head coach Butch Thompson continued to introduce the final members of Auburn baseball's 2018 signing class with the addition of right-handed pitcher Richard Fitts Wednesday afternoon.

High School ÃÆ'¢Ãƒ¢'¬¦ rated the No. 31 player and No. 16 right-hander in Alabama by Perfect Game ÃÆ'¢Ãƒ¢'¬¦ also named a 2017 Perfect Game Underclass High Honorable Mention All-American ÃÆ'¢Ãƒ¢'¬¦ missed most of the 2017 season with an injury, but Helena won the AHSAA 6A State Championship and finished No. 1 in a national poll ÃÆ'¢Ãƒ¢'¬¦ was named All-Shelby County Honorable Mention as a sophomore ÃÆ'¢Ãƒ¢'¬¦ summer team is East Coast Baseball ÃÆ'¢Ãƒ¢'¬¦ also played a season of high school basketball ÃÆ'¢Ãƒ¢'¬¦ served as the SGA President of Helena High School ÃÆ'¢Ãƒ¢'¬¦ son of Danny and Angie Fitts ÃÆ'¢Ãƒ¢'¬¦ has two brothers, Trevor (25) and Nathan (23) ÃÆ'¢Ãƒ¢'¬¦ Trevor played baseball at Mississippi State and currently serves as the program's coordinator of baseball operations.

AuburnTigers.com: Why Auburn? What makes it special?

Richard Fitts: The coaching staff and the people. The first time I came to Auburn I fell in love with the campus and all of the people. Everyone is so friendly and enthusiastic about Auburn.

AT: What do you want to accomplish between now and getting to campus?

RF: I want to gain respect from my future teammates. It's important to me to have a respectful relationship with my teammates, and I look forward to getting to know them a little better before next fall.

AT: How do you see the decision to come to Auburn impacting your life?

RF: I see this decision impacting me by becoming more mature as a person and a baseball player. This campus and coaching staff is phenomenal, and I'm very excited to be a part of it.

AT: What is your favorite thing about baseball?

RF: My favorite thing about baseball is winning and the satisfaction and hunger that goes along with it. There is no feeling like knowing you played as hard as you could and got the result you were looking for.

The final member of the Tigers' signing class will be announced Friday.
