No. 5 Auburn Heads to Alabama for Hunt Seat Only Exhibition

AUBURN, Ala. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" The No. 5 Auburn equestrian team kicks off the second half of the 2017-18 season on the road as the hunt seat corps takes on Alabama in an exhibition, Jan. 19, in Tuscaloosa. The Tigers and the Crimson Tide will go head-to-head at 12 p.m. CT.

"We are anxious to get competing again so I'm glad the cold is finally on its way out," head coach Greg Williams said. "This trip kicks off a very busy 90 days straight through to the postseason. We have a strong team so I believe they will be completely ready this spring."

AUBURN LINEUP
The Tigers will be represented by one senior, four juniors, two sophomores, and three freshmen.

Auburn's lineup in Equitation Over Fences features junior Alex Ladove, who was an NCEA All-American in the event last season. Joining her is classmate Kennedy Knapic and sophomore Anna Claire Smith. The pair each have a win under their belts, while Smith picked up MOP honors for her victory vs. Ole Miss. Freshmen Emma Crosbie, Carly Hoft, and Ericka Koscinski will also ride for the Tigers.

Senior Caitlin Creel will lead the youthful squad in Equitation on the Flat. Ladove is also set to compete with classmates Mackenzie Michaels and Casey Schmitz joining. Sophomore Becky Kozma is slated to go as well, having three wins already in the event this season. Crosbie rounds out the lineup for AU, earning her first-career start in the discipline.

UP NEXT
The full Auburn squad takes to the road to start February, facing a pair of tough opponents away from the Plains. The Tigers will travel to No. 7 Baylor, Feb. 2, before taking on No. 4 Oklahoma State, Feb. 3, in Stillwater.
