AUBURN, Ala. - The Auburn men's tennis team (3-0) visits Georgia Tech (2-0) for an 11 a.m. CT match Sunday at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex in Atlanta, the first road match of the spring season for the Tigers.
"I think this weekend's match comes down to the last match. The key to our success is getting the doubles point and then playing with a lot of composure and enthusiasm throughout the entire match," Auburn head coach Bobby Reynolds said.
"Georgia Tech is a very talented team with depth from 1-6 and is coached by a very great tennis coach in Kenny Thorne. I know Tech will be ready to play from the first ball and I believe we will be, too. I hope our guys are ready to avenge our 4-3 defeat to them from last year."
Live scoring and streaming of the match will be available at www.RamblinWreck.com.
The Tigers opened the season last weekend with three wins over Jackson State. Auburn got singles wins from Michael Durham (2), Tad Maclean (3), Edward Nguyen, Lorenzo Rodriguez (2), Carles Sarrio and Olle Thestrup, as well as sweeping the doubles competition with a combination of lineups.
Auburn's next action comes January 26-27 in the Crimson Indoors event at Harvard. The next home matches for the Tigers are February 2 against Georgia State and Liberty.
