Auburn's swimming and diving teams are headed to Florida for the final dual meets of the 2017-18 season on Saturday. Auburn enters the meet ranked No. 13 in the latest TYR/CSCAA Men's Top 25 and No. 12 in the women's poll. Florida is ranked No. 4 in the men's top 25 and No. 16 on the women's side.
"Florida is a great team," Auburn head coach Brett Hawke said. "They have the world's best swimmer on their team right now in Caeleb Dressel so it is going to be a challenge. The women's meet will be very close as well. The have some young talent that is coming through and performing well for them. It is not an easy meet, especially on the road."
Auburn last competed on Jan. 8 when it traveled to Texas. During that meet Auburn earned eight individual wins on the men's side and two on the women's side. Hugo Gonzalez, who was named SEC Freshman of the Week following the meet, won all three events in which he entered while Zach Apple and Tommy Brewer each won a pair of events.
"We have been training great since Texas," Hawke said. "We are starting to get a little rest here and there but not much. I think they will come together this weekend and perform really well."
Saturday's meet at Florida begins at 9:30 am. CT with 1-meter diving. The swimming competition begins at 11 a.m. CT.
Live results are available through the Meet Mobile app.
SEC Network will broadcast the meet on Sunday, Jan. 21 at 6 p.m. CT.
Auburn will have one final tune-up before the SEC Championships when it plays host to the Auburn Invitational, Feb. 2-4.
