AUBURN, Ala. - No. 13 Auburn women's tennis defeated Tulane 4-0 on Saturday at the Yarbrough Tennis Center to advance to the ITA Kick-Off Auburn Regional Championship game vs. Miami (Fl.), which will be played tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. CT.

"I thought we came out with really good intensity in doubles," Auburn head coach Lauren Spencer said. "Our No. 1s are a powerful doubles team together, and I thought they came out and really took charge of the match, same with the 3s. They took charge of the court, and since they had such a good lead, I think they made the 2s pretty comfortable. I was just really excited about our play in doubles."

Auburn clinched the doubles point against the Green Wave behind wins by Georgie Axon and Alannah Griffin on court three and Jaeda Daniel and Alizee Michaud on court one.

The pairing of senior Michaud and freshman Daniel has proved to be a great decision as the pair has begun 2018 with a 3-0 record through three matches played.

Daniel, a product of Port Charlotte, Fla., also picked up a win in singles, defeating Ivone Alvaro 6-0, 6-3 for the Tigers' second point of the day. Fellow freshman Madeline Meredith defeated Elena Muller 6-4, 6-1 and senior Andie Dikosavljevic had the match-clinching point with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Christiana Sisti.

"The key players in my mind that really stood out were the freshmen, Jaeda and Madi," Spencer said. "They played some really, really good, powerful tennis. Andie, down at five, really took care of her match. She was a little shaky at the beginning, but I think once she settled in she was okay. She's still getting used to being on the court in match settings, so I think that that was good."

The winner of tomorrow's championship match will advance to the 2018 ITA Indoor National Championships held Feb. 9-12 in Madison, Wis.

Miami advanced to the championship by defeating the University of Santa Barbara (UCSB) 4-0.

UCSB and Tulane will play a consolation match at 10 a.m. CT.
