NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Auburn soccer head coach Karen Hoppa will be inducted into the Naperville (Ill.) Central High School Athletic Hall of Fame in a ceremony scheduled for Friday, Feb. 2 in the Naperville Central High School Gymnasium.

Hoppa is one of nine former Redhawks who will be inducted as a member of the Hall of Fame Class of 2018.

A three-sport standout at Naperville Central, Hoppa was the first female All-American in the history of the Redhawks athletics department that was founded in 1909.

Hoppa was not only a standout on the pitch, but also a three-year varsity letterwinner on the softball team and a team captain for the basketball program. She earned all-conference honors on the diamond and helped lead Naperville Central to a regional championship as the team's leading rebounder and all-area selection on the court.

Hoppa is a two-time winner of the Naperville Central Red and White Award, which is the school's highest honor given to a student-athlete. She was also named the Female Athlete of the Year for the class of 1987.
