AUBURN WOMEN'S TENNIS SET FOR TWO GAME ROAD TRIP

AUBURN, Ala. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" The No. 12 Auburn women's tennis team will be traveling to the Northeast this weekend to take on Cornell and Princeton.

The Tigers will first head to Ithaca, N.Y. to square off against Cornell on Friday at 4:30 p.m. at the Reis Tennis Center. At the conclusion of the match, Auburn will travel to Princeton, N.J. to challenge Princeton at 11 a.m. on Sunday at the Lenz Tennis Center.

Auburn is coming off a successful home stand where they defeated Tulane 4-0 and No. 17 Miami 4-2, punching their ticket to the ITA National Team Indoor being held in Madison, Wisconsin from Feb. 9 to Feb. 12.

In singles, No. 53 Jaeda Daniel had a successful weekend notching a 6-0, 6-3 victory against Tulane's Laura Fabrizi and a tough 7-6 (7-5), 0-6, 6-3 victory against Miami's No. 41 Sinead Lohan. Madeline Meredith also swept her competition in singles with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Elena Muller of Tulane and a 6-4,6-2 win over Dominika Paterova of Miami.

Georgia Axon and Alannah Griffin dominated as a doubles tandem over the weekend with a 6-1 victory over Tulane's Chirstiana SIsti and Alex Alegre along with a 6-3 win over Miami's Sinead Lohan and Ulyana Shirokova.

Auburn has gotten off to a promising start, currently sitting at 5-0 and second in the SEC. The Tigers will look to continue to improve as they dive deeper into the spring campaign.
