AUBURN, Ala. - Hosting its busiest weekend of competition of the spring season, the Auburn men's tennis team (4-2) will play two matches Friday and two on Sunday at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.
On Friday, Auburn hosts Georgia State (4-3) at 1 p.m. and then entertains Liberty (1-2) at 6:30 p.m. Free t-shirts and the 2018 schedule posters will be available for fans at the Friday evening match.
On Sunday, UCF (1-2) visits for a noon match and Samford (2-1) plays the Tigers at 4 p.m. to close out the weekend competition.
"This is the busiest weekend of the spring season and a chance to build up our base of match toughness," Auburn head coach Bobby Reynolds said. "We are finally at full strength, and the guys have fought really hard to put themselves in situations where we have a chance to win.
"Last weekend's win over Wichita State gives us enthusiasm and momentum for the matches ahead. Georgia State won at LSU last weekend, and Liberty has a new coach who was the assistant at Georgia Tech previously, so we know they will be ready. We won 4-3 at UCF last season, and they will be looking to even that out. It's a big weekend against some very competitive teams.
"Playing four matches should give all our guys a chance to play so we're ready to go for SEC action. You never know when guys will be hurt or sick, so it's important to me to get guys that experience. Practice matches can't replace that."
All Auburn home matches are held at the Yarbrough Tennis Center (771 Yarbrough Farms Blvd., Auburn) and admission is free.
