No. 10 Tigers, Mancheno lead after Day 1 of All-American Invitational

HUMBLE, Texas ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" No. 10 Auburn men's golf currently sits in a tie for first after the first round play at The All-American Invitational, carding a 14-under 274 Friday at the AAI Course. Freshman Brandon Mancheno holds the individual lead at 7-under 65.

Mancheno, a native of Jacksonville, Fla., had a career day on the course, carding seven birdies and an eagle on the par-4 12th. He holds a 2-stroke lead entering Saturday's second round.

Auburn is tied with host-Houston for the lead with Ole Miss (12-under 276) just behind.

Sophomore Jovan Rebula is tied for 11th at 3-under 69. The George, South Africa product, tallied six birdies on Nos. 2 and 4 on the front and 10, 12, 13 and 17 on the back. Senior Ben Schlottman and junior Trace Crowe are a shot behind at 2-under 70 and tied for 22nd. Freshman Wells Padgett is t-70th at 3-over 75.

Sophomore Ryan Knop, playing as an individual is t-39th at even-par.

No. 3 Baylor is fourth at 9-under 279 followed by South Carolina (281), South Alabama (281), North Texas (281), Sam Houston State (285), No. 13 Wake Forest (286) and SMU (286).

Rice and UTSA are tied for 11th with Southeastern Louisiana, McNeese State, Charlotte, Georgia State, Cincinnati, and Lamar University rounding out the field.
