AUBURN, Ala. -- Auburn senior Bria Johnson was named to the SEC Community Service Team for women's basketball, the league office announced this week.
Johnson, a native of Baton Rouge, La., has served on Auburn's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, most recently as the group's community service coordinator. She has also participated in Blessings in a Backpack with the Jason Dufner Foundation, helped the Auburn women's team serve the Boykin Day Care Center, and volunteered with Our House.
She has also been a Project Uplift mentor, volunteered with the Juvenile Justice Ministry, and led a poetry workshop for middle school students in Tuskegee. She has helped feed the homeless in Atlanta, participated in Serve Day with Church of the Highlands, and is currently planning a community service project for April.
This marks the 20th year for the SEC Community Service Team for women's basketball. All league-sponsored sports have had a Community Service Team since 2004.
Johnson will be one of five Tiger players honored as part of Senior Day as Auburn hosts Ole Miss at 1 p.m. Sunday. The Senior Day recognition will take place following the game.
