AUBURN, Ala. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" The Auburn gymnastics team stands at No. 15 on this week's RoadtoNationals.com Regional Qualifying Score standings. The squad has a RQS of 196.190.
"We are going into the meat of our schedule where we can have an impact on our ranking," head coach Jeff Graba said. "Road scores are extremely important and we have two big road meets ahead of us. We need to focus on calming down and performing how we know we can at LSU."
RQS is determined by the team total average with its home meets and three highest away meets, as well as dropping the team's highest score. The same ranking goes for individuals with their high score dropped and at least three away scores counted.
Oklahoma is first at 197.855, while UCLA jumped to No. 2 at 197.610. LSU, Utah, and Florida round out the Top 5. All Southeastern Conference schools are in the Top 25 ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" Alabama (No. 6), Kentucky (No. 9), Arkansas (No. 10), Georgia (No. 17), Missouri (No. 20).
Auburn stands 11th on beam with an RQS of 49.135. The squad upped its RQS on vault to 49.060 and is 16th in the event. The Tigers are 19th on bars (49.015) and 22nd on floor (49.110).
Redshirt junior Abby Milliet is among the nation's best on beam and is 11th with a 9.9 RQS. The Denton, Texas, product is tied for 19th on floor at 9.885. Freshman Drew Watson is tied for 23rd on vault with a 9.870 RQS.
Auburn travels to Baton Rouge for a Sunday afternoon tilt vs. No. 3 LSU. The two Tiger teams will go head-to-head, March 4, at 2:30 p.m. CT in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center and the meet will be broadcast live on SEC Network.
