Auburn Moves Up to No. 15 Nationally

AUBURN, Ala. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" The Auburn gymnastics upped their national ranking to No. 15 following a season-high 197.0 this past Friday in Auburn Arena. The Tigers improved their season average to 196.040.

"We have a tough weekend ahead and need to take the momentum from Friday with us on the road," head coach Jeff Graba said. "The team has a difficult task this coming Friday at No. 10 Arkansas with a quick turnaround Sunday.

Oklahoma once again ranks No. 1, while Utah moved up to No. 2. Holding down spots 3-5 is LSU, UCLA, and Florida. The remaining Southeastern Conference teams are in the Top 25 ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" Kentucky (6), Alabama (9), Arkansas (10), Georgia (13), Missouri (24).

The Tigers continue to move up the rankings in three of four events. The squad moved up to ninth nationally on vault with a 49.085 average following a season-high of 49.35 vs. Florida last week. Auburn is also 11th on bars (49.035) and 12th on beam (49.075).

Junior Samantha Cerio ranks tied for ninth nationally on bars with a 9.895 average. In addition, sophomore Gracie Day and freshman Jada Glenn are both tied for 26th on vault, averaging 9.855.

The Tigers take to the road for a full weekend away from the Plains. Auburn first visits Arkansas for an SEC Meet, Feb. 9, in Fayetteville before traveling to Denton, Texas, for a quad meet at Texas Woman's University, Feb. 11. The Tigers will take on host TWU as well as NC State and Pittsburgh at 2 p.m. CT.
