AUBURN, Ala. - No. 14 Auburn dropped their SEC home-opener Friday 2-0 to Alabama.

The Tigers put up a hard fight against the 12-ranked Crimson Tide (19-5, 1-0), allowing just two runs over seven hits. Alabama tallied eight hits in the game, while Alabama ace Alexis Osorio limited Auburn to just one hit, which came courtesy of a Tannon Snow single in the fifth inning.

The Tigers fell to 25-6 on the season and 0-4 in SEC play.

Kaylee Carlson (12-1) pitched a complete game for the Tigers, recording three strikeouts to bring her season total to 73. The senior from Garden Grove, Calif. was charged with her first loss of the season.

Osorio, the reigning SEC Pitcher of the Week, pitched another outstanding game to keep the Auburn bats at bay, tossing a complete game with six strikeouts to improve to 6-3 on the season.

Alabama plated their first run in the first inning on a RBI single and added their second run late in the sixth on a solo homerun by Caroline Hardy.

Despite not being able to bring any runs across, the Tigers found themselves in scoring position on several occasions due in part to drawing seven walks on Osorio. Auburn loaded the bases twice in the first and sixth innings, and finished with nine runners left on base.

Auburn will look to bounce back in game two vs. Alabama tomorrow. First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m. CT. The game will be streamed live on ESPNU.
