PONTE VEDRA, Fla. - No. 6 Auburn men's golf is tied for fourth after two rounds of play at the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational, carding a 295-282--577 Sunday at the par-72, 6,966-yard Sawgrass Country Club.
The Tigers were 1-over par for the day led by a trio of top-20 individuals. Freshman Brandon Mancheno is tied for 10th 2-under 72-70--142. The Jacksonville, Fla. product carded six birdies over the two rounds and sunk an eagle putt on the par-5 No. 8 in the first round.
Sophomore Jovan Rebula is two shots back in a tie for 14th at 74-70--144. The recently-named Palmer Cup participant was 2-under in the second round tallying birdies on Nos. 8, 11, 14, 17 and 18.
Senior Ben Schlottman (75-70--145) and freshman Wells Padgett (73-72--145), playing as an individual, are part of a 12-way tie for 19th at 1-over. Sophomore Ryan Knop is t-49th at 74-75--149, junior Trace Crowe is t-69th at 82-72--154 and junior Graysen Huff, playing as an individual, is t-76th at 80-77--157.
North Carolina is the day one leader at 7-under 288-281--569 with Jacksonville just behind at 5-under 294-277--571. Liberty (291-281--572) is in third and UCF (293-284--577) is tied with Auburn for fourth.
North Florida and Washington are tied for sixth at 2-over 578 followed by Tennessee (296-287--583), Purdue (298-288--586), Louisville (302-285--587), North Texas (298-293--591), West Virginia (296-298--594), Lipscomb (301-295--596), Furman (300-298--598) and Coastal Carolina (304-296--600).
Tennessee's Lorenzo Scalise holds the individual lead at 8-under 68-68--136.
