AUBURN, Ala. - The No. 15 Auburn women's tennis team will be put to the test this weekend as they host No. 10 South Carolina and No. 18 Florida. The Tigers will square off against No. 10 South Carolina on Thursday at 6 p.m., then proceed to face No. 18 Florida at noon on Saturday.
South Carolina is 15-3 on the season and 6-0 in SEC play. The Gamecocks have seven ranked wins, three ranked singles players and two ranked doubles tandems. Florida is 10-5 on the season and 5-1 in SEC play. The Gators have five ranked wins, four ranked singles players and one ranked doubles tandem.
The Tigers are scorching heading into the weekend as they are currently on a five-game winning streak. Auburn's latest action highlighted the team's recent success as it swept Alabama 4-0.
Freshman Jaeda Daniel had a particularly successful weekend as she was the first Tiger to claim a set in both singles and doubles, earning a 6-1, 6-0 win in singles and teaming up with fellow freshman Madeline Meredith to win their doubles set 6-4. The Port Charlotte, Fla. native is now 10-5 in singles and 15-3 in doubles on the season. Daniel has teamed up with Meredith to win four matches straight for a 9-1 record.
Auburn is now 16-5 on the season and 4-1 in SEC play. The Tigers' next action will be a two-game road trip against No. 37 Tennessee and No. 9 Georgia. Auburn will face Tennessee on Thursday, March 29 at 6 p.m. The Tigers will then square off against Georgia on Saturday, March 31 at 11 a.m.
