ST. LOUIS ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" The No. 16 Auburn gymnastics team scored a 195.650 at the 2018 SEC Championship Saturday, finishing eighth at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis.

"I thought we finished strong and the team did a good job getting back on track," head coach Jeff Graba said. "We're still struggling with starting aggressively and when you open on bars or beam, you have to have your mentality in check. We're a young team that needs to figure out how to get on track fast. I'm happy with the way we finished, but we still have some work to do in the next week and a half."

LSU captured the championship with a 197.400, while Alabama came in second at 196.975. Florida finished third (196.825) and Kentucky came in fourth (196.550). Arkansas (196.425), Georgia (196.350), Missouri (196.100), and Auburn closed out the spots 5-8.

A trio of Tigers in freshman Drew Watson, sophomore Gracie Day, and junior Samantha Cerio secured All-SEC honors for their performances on vault and bars.

Auburn saw its best performance of the day on vault to close out the afternoon session, scoring a 49.125. Watson and Day each came in a tie for first in the session and second overall in the meet, scoring a pair of 9.925s. The score was a career best for Watson and tied a career high for Day. Sophomore Katie Becker and junior Taylor Krippner each chipped in a 9.775, while freshman Jada Glenn added a 9.725.

The squad opened the meet on bars, finishing with a 48.900. Cerio came in a tie for first in the session with a 9.85 to take home All-SEC honors in the event for the second-consecutive season. She finished tied for seventh overall. Redshirt junior Abby Milliet anchored the team with a 9.8, while Watson and Day added a 9.775 each. Krippner finished with a 9.7 for the team score.

The Tigers moved on to beam with a 48.825 as Krippner led the squad with a 9.85. Freshman Allie Riddle led off with a 9.8, while Milliet also chipped in a 9.8. Freshman Meredith Sylvia finished with a 9.725 and Cerio's 9.65 added to the team's total.

Cerio and Milliet led Auburn on floor with a pair of 9.8s, while Watson finished with a 9.775. Day put together a 9.725, while freshman Ashley Smith and redshirt sophomore Emma Slappey chipped in a pair of 9.7s. The Tigers came away with a 48.8.

Up next, Auburn will await its NCAA Regional selection. It will be announced Monday at 3 p.m. CT on NCAA.com.
