AUBURN, Ala. - The No. 15 Auburn women's tennis team will be on the road this weekend for the first time in a while to take on No. 38 Tennessee and No. 8 Georgia.
The Tigers will travel to Knoxville, Tenn. on Thursday, March 29, to take on Tennessee at Barksdale Stadium at 6 p.m. Auburn will then turn around and head to Athens, Ga. on Saturday, March 31, to square off against Georgia at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex at 11 a.m.
Tennessee is 13-7 on the season and 0-7 in SEC play. The Volunteers also have three ranked wins on the season. Georgia is 10-4 on the season and 5-2 in SEC play. The Bulldogs have seven ranked wins, four ranked singles players and two ranked doubles tandems. Georgia's top player, No. 6 Katarina Jokic, is 7-1 in the spring with seven top 25 wins to her name.
Auburn is now 16-7 on the season and 4-3 in SEC play. The Tiger currently have three players with double digit wins in singles in senior Alizee Michaud (13-3), freshman Madeline Meredith (15-3) and freshman Jaeda Daniel (11-6). Daniel recently picked up her biggest win of the season in a 6-3, 6-2 domination of South Carolina's No. 31 Hadley Berg last Thursday. Daniel and Meredith have also teamed up to post a 9-1 doubles record to date.
The Tigers' next action will be another two-game road trip against Missouri and No. 48 Arkansas. Auburn will travel to Columbia, Mo. to face Missouri on Friday, April 6, at 3 p.m. at the Mizzou Tennis Complex. The Tigers will then head to Fayetteville, Ark. to take on Arkansas on Sunday, April 8, at 1 p.m. at the Billingsley Tennis Center.
