BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Auburn junior Trace Crowe was selected as the Southeastern Conference Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.
He is the third Tiger to garner distinction from the conference this season, joining Brandon Mancheno and Ben Schlottman.
Crowe won medalist honors at the Gary Koch Invitational after shooting a career-best 16-under in three rounds Monday and Tuesday (69-63-68--200).
The junior's second round card of 63 matched a program record for lowest score in a round in Auburn history, tying Kyle Kopsick in 2009.
Crowe racked up 15 birdies and one eagle in his three circuits of Gastonia Country Club en route to being the first Tiger to shoot all three rounds of a tournament in the 60s this season.
The Bluffton, S.C. native led No. 11 Auburn to a second-place finish and its second-lowest score of the spring season at 31-under (276-273-284--833).
Crowe and the Tigers now shift their focus to postseason play as they hit the links in the SEC Championship, April 26-29, at St. Simons Island, Ga.
