NORMAN, Okla. - Auburn's Corey Maggard has been named a finalist for the 2018 Jan Strickland Award presented by TaylorMade, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced Wednesday.

The Strickland Award is presented to the NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA or NJCAA assistant coach that has excelled in working with their student-athletes both on the course and in the classroom.

Maggard is no stranger to the award as he was tabbed a finalist in 2016-17 during his first season as the associate head coach. He was also selected a semifinalist for the annual honor during the 2015-16 season, his second campaign on staff.

The Tigers have won three tournaments this season at the All-American, Tiger Invitational and John Hayt Invitational in three consecutive competitions from Feb. 16-March 19. Auburn has finished no worse than sixth in 11 events.

Junior Trace Crowe claimed medalist honors at the Gary Koch Intercollegiate and is one of nine Auburn golfers to place in the top 10 individually this season.

The Tigers have won 14 tournaments in Maggard's four years and have been nationally ranked for the entire 2017-18 season, currently standing at No. 9 in the country.

Auburn enters postseason play next week when it travels to St. Simons Island, Ga. for the Southeastern Conference Championship at Sea Island Golf Club, April 25-29.
