AUBURN, Ala. - The No. 19 Auburn women's tennis team, marked as the No. 6 seed, will be taking on No. 11-seeded Arkansas in the second round of the SEC Women's Tennis Tournament on Thursday, April 19, at 11 a.m. CT in Knoxville, Tenn.
Auburn finished the regular season with an overall record of 20-9, going 8-5 in SEC play. The Tigers will be looking to ride their momentum from the regular season into the tournament as they are currently on a four-game winning streak.
On top of the Auburn's recent on-court success, senior Andie Dikosavljevic was rewarded for her work off the court as she was named to the 2018 SEC Community Service Team.
Auburn currently has two players ranked in the latest ITA singles rankings in No. 49 Jaeda Daniel and No. 108 Alizee Michaud. Daniel, a freshman, posted a 15-8 record in singles and an 18-5 record in doubles throughout the regular season, with three of those singles wins coming against ranked opponents. Michaud concluded her regular season at a 15-5 mark in singles and a 9-11 record in doubles. The senior from Orlando, Fla., also managed to take down three ranked singles opponents during that stretch.
Arkansas is currently 8-15 on the season and 3-10 in SEC play, but the Razorbacks most recently defeated No. 14-seeded Missouri in the opening round of the tournament to advance to face Auburn.
The winner of Thursday's match will advance to face No. 3 seeded South Carolina on Friday at 11 a.m. CT in the quarterfinals of tournament. Should the Tigers continue to advance, the semifinal match would be on Saturday at 10 a.m. CT, then the championship match, which is also being televised by the SEC Network, will be held on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. CT.
