AUBURN, Ala. -- Auburn University's Board of Trustees approved naming Jordan-Hare Stadium's newest premium seating location the Broadway Club, in honor of Tigers Unlimited donors Bob and Julie Broadway.
The Broadway Club, located at midfield on the stadium's west side in the space that was formerly the press box, features deluxe interior finishes and furnishings available to 120 patrons.
The Broadways recently committed $3.4 million to improve football facilities through Auburn Athletics' Fearless and True campaign.
"Bob and Julie's extraordinary generosity exemplifies Auburn's giving spirit," Director of Athletics Allen Greene said. "Spend a day on the Plains and it's easy to understand it's people who make Auburn such a special place. The Broadways demonstrate that very essence, which is why Auburn holds a strong position in the national landscape."
A 1991 Auburn University accounting graduate, Broadway also earned an MBA in 1993 from the Raymond J. Harbert College of Business. He met Julie when he was a student at Auburn.
"I was in Auburn during the Pat Dye era and saw some great victories and SEC championships. It was a great time to be at Auburn," Broadway said. The Broadways belong to The Oaks Society, the prestigious group of Tigers Unlimited donors who have contributed more than $1 million to Auburn Athletics.
"I've just always loved Auburn Athletics and the kind of talent we recruit and the character behind the talent," Broadway said. "When we're recruiting athletes, most of the time you find really strong character behind their talents. That's rewarding."
The Broadways' commitment helped Athletics' Fearless and True campaign surpass $21.7 million of its $31.4 million goal for Jordan-Hare Stadium.
"Bob and Julie are synonymous with the word 'givers'," said Tim Jackson, executive director of Tigers Unlimited. "The Broadways are wonderful people and have used their life and business success to help others along the way. When we discussed their investment in Auburn, their main question was, 'What can we do to help Auburn?'"
Auburn University President Steven Leath noted in his installation address that alumni are among the most visible and credible ambassadors of the Auburn experience. "The Broadways' generosity provides tangible evidence that Auburn is more than a place to go to school. It is a place that inspires hard work, honesty, respect and mutual helpfulness," said Greene.
