COLLEGE STATION, Texas - No. 12 Auburn dropped the series to No. 11 Texas A&M falling 1-0 to the Aggies on a walk-off, two-out single in the bottom of the seventh inning Saturday at Davis Diamond.
Makayla Martin (14-5) and Aggie starter Samantha Show (11-4) went back and forth all game in a true pitcher's duel. Martin entered the seventh inning with just two hits allowed, but Texas A&M rattled off three consecutive base hits with two outs, with the final hit plating the decisive run.
Martin finished with a strikeout and walked just two batters over 92 pitches.
Taylon Snow led-off the game with a double, her fifth of the season, but the Tigers weren't able to find much success after as Show finished with a 1-hitter with eight strikeouts to earn the win.
The Auburn defense was solid all game with no errors committed for the second straight day.
Auburn dropped to 38-13 (11-11) while A&M improved to 39-12 (11-8).
The Tigers will look to avoid the sweep tomorrow at 1 p.m. CT at Davis Diamond.
