AUBURN, Ala. - The No. 17 Auburn women's tennis team will be hitting the road for the final time during the regular season this weekend as they take on Missouri and Arkansas.
The Tigers will first travel to Columbia, Mo., to face Missouri on Friday, April 6, at 3 p.m. at the Mizzou Tennis Complex. Auburn will then head to Fayetteville, Ark., to square off against Arkansas on Sunday, April 8, at 1 p.m. at the Billingsley Tennis Center.
Missouri is 11-12 on the season and 0-9 in SEC play. Arkansas is 5-13 on the season and 1-8 in SEC play. The Razorbacks have three ranked wins on the season, and they also boast two ranked singles players and three ranked doubles tandems.
Auburn is 16-9 on the season and 4-5 in SEC play. Freshman Jaeda Daniel recently caught fire as she has won six of her last seven matches, with three of those wins coming against ranked opponents. The Port Charlotte, Fla., native was rewarded for her late success by shooting up the rankings 40 spots from No. 79 to No. 39.
Daniel is now 13-6 in singles and 17-3 in doubles on the season. Daniel is also on a seven-game winning streak in doubles to date, with five of those wins coming alongside fellow freshman Madeline Meredith.
The Tigers' next action will be hosting the regular season finale as they take on Texas A&M and LSU at the Yarbrough Tennis Center. Auburn will start the weekend by squaring off against No. 33 Texas A&M on Friday, April 13, at 6 p.m. The Tigers will then conclude the weekend by facing No. 37 LSU on Sunday, April 15, at noon for Senior Day.
