AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn women’s basketball team will play in the 2018 Preseason WNIT, it was announced Tuesday.

Auburn will join a field that includes Delaware, Hartford, Iowa State, Marquette, Miami, Montana State, Morgan State, New Mexico, Niagara, Nicholls State, Northern Illinois, Northern Iowa, Stephen F. Austin, Texas State and Yale.

Each team is guaranteed three games in the event with all games played at campus sites. The championship game will be televised on CBS Sports Network.

First-round games will take place Nov. 8-9 with matchups and host sites to be announced at a later date. Second- and third-round games will be played the following week, and the championship game will take place Sunday, Nov. 18.

Auburn returns four starters and eight letter-winners from its 2017-18 team that was one of the nation’s top defensive squads, ranking No. 2 in the nation in steals and No. 3 nationally in turnovers forced.
