STILLWATER, Okla. - Auburn head men's golf coach Nick Clinard has been named a finalist for the Dave Williams Award presented by Golf Pride Grips, the Golf Coaches Association of American (GCAA) announced.
The Williams Award honors the national coach of the year in Division I men's golf. Williams Award and regional coach of the year recipients will be announced June 6.
Clinard is a finalist for the second time as the leader of the Auburn program after also receiving recognition in 2012.
Under Clinard, the 2018 Southeastern Conference Coach of the Year, the Tigers have won four tournaments during the 2017-18 season, including the fourth SEC title in program history after defeating Alabama in match play.
Auburn has been nationally ranked the entire campaign and has finished sixth or better in every event. Individuals in the orange and blue have carded 129 rounds at or below par, including 94 below par.
Under Clinard overall, the Tigers have won 29 tournaments, appeared in the NCAA Tournament seven times and had seven All-Americans, 22 All-SEC selections and 23 All-Region honorees.
Joining Clinard as the other finalists are Alan Bratton of Oklahoma State, JT Higgins of Texas A&M, Ryan Hybl of Oklahoma and Scott Limbaugh of Vanderbilt.
