- Turned in his third complete-game of the season and fifth of his career.
- Didn't issue a walk in a start for the seventh time this season and 11th time since the start of last year.
- Moved his strikeout-to-walk ratio to 119-7 and has 27 more strikeouts than any other SEC pitcher this year.
Team Notes
Auburn turned in its first sweep of Vanderbilt since 2002 and outscored the Commodores 29-6 in the series ... the Tigers capped off the sweep with a 14-0 win in the finale, marking the first shutout vs. Vanderbilt since 1998 and the largest margin of victory against the Commodores since 1967 ... the sweep was the team's fifth of the season and second of the conference slate ... it marks the first season with two conference sweeps since 2010 and the first year with five overall sweeps since 2002 ... the Tigers are 9-3 in the last four conference weekends and are tied with Florida for the best record in the league during the span ... Casey Mize matched an Auburn single-game record and became the first SEC pitcher to strike out 15 batters since 2013 in the series opener ... he turned in his third complete game of the season and didn't issue a walk for the seventh time in 12 starts ... Jay Estes had two or more hits in all three games and matched a career-high with 3-for-4 performances in each of the final two contests of the series ... Estes now leads the team with a .310 batting average during SEC play and raised his average 29 points over the weekend ... Conor Davis hit his first home run of the season in the series opener and followed with a three-run home run that cleared the videoboard in left-center field in the finale ... he drove in 10 runs in the series after entering the weekend with two RBI during conference play ... like Davis, Brendan Venter homered twice during the weekend and went 4-for-9 in the series ... Tanner Burns and Cody Greenhill combined to lead the Tigers to the fourth straight SEC win in games which each of them pitched, three of which clinched a conference series ... Andrew Mitchell threw a season-high 5.1 scoreless innings and allowed only one hit in the series finale ... he combined with Calvin Coker and Davis Daniel to face just two batters over the minimum against the Commodores ... with two weekends remaining in the regular season, Auburn is tied for fourth in the SEC and just one game out of first place in the SEC West.
