On getting first win of the season...
"We are always happy to win. It is always good to get that first game under your belt and get some of those first game jitters out, especially with so many freshman and newcomers. We are excited about that. We have a lot to work though, but we'll figure it out."

On the newcomers...
"They had their moments when they looked good and they had their moments when you knew they were freshmen and newcomers out on the floor. I thought Katie Frerking started out well shooting the ball. A lot of the problem is defensively. They haven't understood the angels and positioning of where we need to be an over run the plays a little bit. Those are things that we have to fix."

On Tyrese Tanner and Peyton Davis...
"They did extremely well. You could really tell the tempo of the game changed when they were both out of the game. I think for Tyrese, she just brings this certain energy and requires so much attention on the offensive end. She was active at the top of our press. I thought Peyton tonight did a really good job inside tonight. I told her in the locker room that I though she could've got 20-25 points tonight if she was more aggressive right off the bat, as soon as the game started. I thought throughout the game she showed spurts of being aggressive, but for us I thought she could have been more aggressive throughout the game tonight."

On the importance of Tyrese and Peyton having a good start...

"We needed our seniors to play well tonight. We can explain the freshmen and newcomers, but you can't explain your seniors. It's good for them, plus it's good for them confidence wise because now they understand the expectation that has been set and what we need from the every night. Not just tonight, not just the next time we play, but every single night what we expect and need from them."

On the first win of the senior season...
"Anytime you can get a win first off of the season is huge. Senior wise, I think it hasn't really hit me yet that that was my last first game at Auburn. It's a weird feeling. I wish we could have played better defensively, but everybody did their part for the most part, and we got the win."

On how they felt about the whole game coming in without any exhibitions...
"We had one or two scrimmages. It's different when we're playing everybody, and today we had a few players that had to sit out. So I'm looking forward to getting them back. The dynamic was a little bit different, but it's always fun as a team and play when you've been playing each other at practice for so long. We play each other every single day, and it gets kind of old. When you can come out and play somebody else, it's always exciting. "

On the first win of the senior season...
"I think we did a pretty good job tonight. Our freshman, it's their first game and they got their nervousness out. It hasn't hit me yet it's our senior year. I was pretty nervous tonight, and usually I'm not that nervous. I was actually scared tonight, but I'm glad we came out with the win. I think we played pretty hard. We didn't hustle for the ball as much as we needed to; but we're working on our defense. It will get better along the way."

 On how the newcomers played...
"Pretty good. They came out really well. Just like Coach Flo said, when we play the 13th we'll be a lot better. We'll have subs, and we'll just keep running the team for 40 minutes. I think tonight because we were limited, we weren't able to put as much pressure as we were. As the new fouls, on not being able to touch players as much, it hurts us a little bit, because our press is aggressive. It's just hard to back off a little bit when you can force like we did last year with twenty turnovers in a game. So I think with the newcomers will be working on it, and get back to that point."

On team's performance...

"We were proud of the way our kids kept attacking. We knew we were going to see a lot of pressure. We knew Auburn has a lot of length in that press. We talked about being poised and also being aggressive. I was really proud of how our kids did those things for the whole 40 minutes. Defensively we gave up 25 second-chance points. We knew they had athleticism, and it was a point of emphasis for us. In the second half, some crucial o-boards for Auburn allowed them to extend the lead. Those are some things we need to continue to work on."

On Mimi Dubose...
"Mimi is such a tough kid. We rely on her a lot. She came in early in her career being known more as a shooter, and she has really evolved into a complete playmaker. She just has so much toughness and confidence out there. Our kids just really trust that she's going to make a play. Nine times out of ten, it will probably be a good one. We roll with those chances."

On improving the rest of the season...

"This is something we have to build off of because we don't see this length and athleticism every day. It's not something we can easily simulate in our practices, so obviously we didn't have complete success. We want to win the game, but that we battled and competed for forty minutes, this is something our kids can take a lot of pride in moving forward to our future opponents."
