On tonight's game...
"That is a very good win over a very good Big East team. I thought our girls finally did a good job of putting two halves together. We had a very good first half and a steady second half. That is something we haven't been able to do in the past. I was very impressed with them doing that."
On Hasina Muhammad's performance...
"Hasina came out on fire. When she plays like that it is really easy for us to get into the flow of our offense. When we make baskets, it is easy for us to get into our press. I thought our ladies did a good job on the press, and more importantly, they followed the game plan really well."
On Tyrese Tanner's performance...
"Tyrese was a little shaky in the first half, but Hasina was going off in the first half, so Tyrese had her time in the second half. I'm telling you, when we can get those two playing that well, we have a lot of ball games we can win."
On the team looking good against a major conference opponent...
"Having played them many times in the Big East, I knew it was a team we could press, but I knew it was a team that we had to contain and keep them out of the paint. I thought our girls did a good job understanding what we needed to do."

On the game...
"Well I didn't force anything. We knew one of the key things to win was discipline on offense. So we just ran the rest of it and I got my points within the sets."
On passing the ball...
"When we share the ball, that's when we're at our best."
On the defensive game plan...
"We knew they were drivers. They were quicker. They might have been quicker than us. So we knew we had to give them space and don't foul, because lately we've been fouling a lot and putting them on the line."
On the dunk attempt...
"I noticed there wasn't anybody in front of me. We were already ahead by a lot; so I just felt it."
On how close she got her hand above the rim...
"Maybe two inches. That's all I need."

St. John's Head Coach Joe Tartamella
On the game...
"I thought that we didn't come ready to play today. Auburn really did a nice job doing the things they do well. We didn't respond well, especially in the first half. If you can't win the turnover battle, the rebound battle or the free throw battle, it is very difficult to win. I'm a little upset about the first half, although we did get better in the second half. However, we have to get better."
On Hasina Muhammad and Tyrese Tanner...
"They had 28 and 20, so we didn't handle them very well. I thought we gave them the shots that they wanted. We talked all week about making them uncomfortable and being smart defensively. They made the shots that they are capable of making. This was the first time defensively we've had a letdown as much as 69 points. Muhammad got to her strengths and Tanner also got to her strengths. We put them in good positions to score."
On Auburn's defense and pressure...
"Obviously, their game is based upon their pressure. In the first half we weren't prepared. We did do a better job in the second half though. But at the same time I was a little upset with the way we attacked it because we worked on that in practice all week. We talked about not giving them points on turnovers and they had 22. It is very easy when you look at those numbers and just watching the flow of the game. I've got some younger players who haven't seen this and that showed a little bit tonight. But I think we are going to get better from it, we have to."
