Auburn rising sophomore Mychael O'Berry put together three solid rounds to earn a runner-up finish at the Alabama Women's Stroke Play Championship in Athens this week.
O'Berry posted rounds of 68-67-71=206 (-10) to finish four shots ahead of the third-place finisher. Her second-round 67 was one of the best of her career.
Elsewhere, rising sophomore Julie McCarthy competed in the Irish Women's Close Championship in Enniscrone, Ireland, this week, earning the No. 17 seed in match play after shooting 83-79=162 (+16) in the qualifying rounds. She dropped her first-round match, 3 & 2.
