Collier, McLemore selected to 2017-18 NABC Honors Court

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Auburn rising juniors Thomas Collier and Anfernee McLemore were selected to the 2017-18 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court, the organization announced Tuesday.

The award recognizes men's collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the past season.

In order to be eligible for the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The student-athlete must be academically a junior or senior, hold a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the academic year, matriculate at least one year at their current institution and be a member of a NCAA Division I, II, III or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.

Both Collier and McLemore earned recognition while working toward degrees from the Harbert College of Business.

Collier appeared in five games off the bench in his first season with the Tigers. The Birmingham, Ala. native averaged 0.4 points and 0.4 rebounds in 2.0 minutes per game. He also was named an Academic Top Tiger.

McLemore averaged 7.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game en route to being named to the Southeastern Conference All-Defensive Team. The Warwick, Ga. native led the league and ranked 12th in the country in blocks and tied for the team lead with three double-doubles. He was also an Academic Top Tiger while being a member of the prestigious SEC Men's Basketball Leadership Council.
