AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn volleyball team added to its 2018 roster as Chesney McClellan will join the Tigers this fall, head coach Rick Nold announced Monday.
"We are excited to add Chesney to our 2018 incoming class," Nold said "Chesney brings extensive, high-level experience that will have a big impact in our program over the next three years. We can't wait to get started with her and the rest of the team in a few weeks."
McClellan, a 6-4 middle blocker, comes to the Plains after spending her freshman season at Nebraska in 2017. The Maryville, Tenn., product played in four matches for the national champions and made one start. She recorded seven kills and four blocks at Rutgers (Sept. 23), hitting .462 for the Huskers.
Prior to Nebraska, McClellan was ranked No. 26 on the 2016 PrepVolleyball.com Senior Aces list and was a 2016 Under Armour All-America First Team honoree.
The Tigers kick off the 2018 season at home, hosting the War Eagle Invitational in Auburn Arena, Aug. 24-25. Auburn will welcome the Big Ten's Michigan as well as High Point to the Plains. Overall, the Tiger team will face 10 NCAA Tournament participants from 2017.
