Ashton Alexander added another solid season to her career in 2017-18, finishing fourth on the team in overall wins and securing NCEA All-Championship team recognition for her efforts in Equitation Over Fences.

Currently, Alexander is enrolled in classes this summer and is preparing for the fall season. The rising senior from Ocala, Fla., continues to stay focused on both academics and the team and is looking forward to leading Auburn to another successful season.

Q: What have you been doing since your team won the National Championship in April?
A: I have been keeping it moving throughout the summer making sure I stay loose. I'm also making sure the horses are loose, while giving them a vacation as well.

Q: If you could have one superpower what would it be?
A: I would definitely want to teleport because then I could go anywhere I want to travel to much easier.

Q: What made you want to come to Auburn?
A: I had previously toured three schools before I came to tour Auburns campus. I came here on a Monday-Tuesday tour day. I got along with the teammates here more so than other schools and I also liked how small the campus was. It felt like home.

Q: What is your favorite memory at Auburn?
A: My favorite memory was becoming national champions right off the bat my freshman year. Once we picked up the rings on the field that fall, that's when it was real for me. The actual experience of picking up the rings on the field was my favorite memory.

Q: What is one piece of advice you would give to incoming freshmen?
A: Be willing to work and keep a good attitude. Even though we are working hard, we make it a fun environment for everyone.

Q: Who is someone you look up to the most and why?
A: Coach Williams. He worked very hard to get this team a spot in the athletics department back when they were just starting and we wouldn't be where we are today without that hard work.

Q: How do you think being a student-athlete will help you prepare for life after college?
A: I've learned how to have even more respect for myself that I already had. It has also taught me to be more responsible throughout life in general.
