Persons, a Grand Rapids, Mich., native, was two-time All-Region honoree, 2016 All-State third team, 2017 All-State Honorable Mention, 2017 First Team All-Area and 2017 First Team All-Conference honoree. During her time on the Plains she will be majoring in Nutrition.

"I'm so excited to be a part of the Auburn Family," Persons said. "I want to make Auburn proud."

Q: What is your favorite Auburn tradition?
A: I really like the tradition of the eagle flying around the field before a football game. I think it brings everyone together. It's cool to see everyone get excited about it, do the same thing at the game and act as a team in general.

Q: Who is your favorite celebrity?
A: Blake Lively.

Q: What is your mindset going into your first season as an Auburn volleyball player?
A: I'm very excited. I think I'm prepared for it all. It's going to be super exciting, and I am ready.

Q: What will you miss most about home?
A: I'll miss the home setting, my family and my dog.

Q: What do you plan on majoring in and why?
A: Nutrition because I've always been interested in that field.

Q: What is your favorite aspect of the game?
A: My favorite aspect of the game is playing as a team and working together to win.

Q: What was your biggest accomplishment athletically in high school?
A: My biggest accomplishment was being all-state. I think coming back from a knee injury and surgery was a big accomplishment as well.

Q: How do you plan on making an impact in your freshman season?
A: I plan to be very encouraging and help the team out anyway that I can.

Q: How would you define the game volleyball and what it means to you?
A: I would define it as a very exciting game that uses each person to make it exciting, and it means a lot to me. I love it.

Q: If you could play any other sport at Auburn, what would it be and why?
A: I would play tennis because I played tennis my whole life. However, I like playing as a team instead of playing as an individual.

Q: If you had to be stuck on an island with three people, who would they be and why?
A: My best friend Hannah, my sister and my mom. My best friend is very good with being in the outdoors, I just love being with my sister all the time and my mom because she's helpful in every situation.
