AUBURN, Ala. – Bella Rosenthall of the Auburn volleyball team was named the SEC Freshman of the Week, the Southeastern Conference office announced Monday.

Rosenthall, a 5-5 libero from Yorktown, Ind., averaged 5.00 digs/set over two matches this week, helping the Tigers go 2-0 to close out the non-conference slate.

In Auburn's come-from-behind victory at Kennesaw State Tuesday, Rosenthall set a career-best with 25 digs to lead all student-athletes in the five-set match. She also added a service ace and five assists for the Tigers on the road.

Rosenthall capped the week Sunday vs. Florida State with another 20-dig performance in the 3-1 win over the Seminoles. She once again led all athletes with 20 digs in the match for her third 20-dig contest this year.

The libero upped her season average to 4.08 digs/set and moved into sixth among the conference.

The Tigers kick off Southeastern Conference play with a pair of matches next weekend. Auburn opens with a home contest vs. Tennessee, Sept. 21, in Auburn Arena at 7 p.m. CT. The squad follows with a Sunday afternoon tilt on the road, facing rival and nationally-ranked Alabama at 1 p.m. CT in Tuscaloosa.
