BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The television networks and tipoff times for Auburn's 18-game Southeastern Conference schedule for the 2019 season were announced by the league office Wednesday.
The Tigers are set to appear on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU a total of 11 times with the potential for a 12th game. Auburn also is slated to appear on CBS once with the remaining games on the SEC Network.
Of the nine league games set to take place at Auburn Arena, five are scheduled for the primetime slots of 7, 7:30 or 8 p.m. CT.
Six of the 18 games have known networks, highlighted by the Feb. 23 game at Kentucky on CBS at 12:30 p.m. The other five are on the SEC Network, including three home games.
The remaining matchups will appear on the ESPN family of networks with the announcements of those games coming at a later date.
The Tigers open the annual slate with road games at Ole Miss (Jan. 9) and Texas A&M (Jan. 16) on either ESPN2 or ESPNU at 6 p.m. around the home opener vs. Georgia (Jan. 12) at 3 p.m. on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU.
Auburn welcomes Kentucky for either a 3 or 5 p.m. showdown on ESPN or ESPN2 on Jan. 19.
The Tigers are then set to appear on the SEC Network for three consecutive games to close out the first month of conference play: at South Carolina on Jan. 22 at 5:30 p.m., at Mississippi State on Jan. 26 at 7:30 p.m. and vs. Missouri on Jan. 30 at 7:30 p.m.
Auburn wraps up a 3-game homestand with late-night tilts against Alabama (Feb. 2) and Florida (Feb. 5) at 7 and 8 p.m., respectively, on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU inside Auburn Arena.
Road matchups at LSU on Feb. 9 at 1 p.m. and at Vanderbilt on Feb. 16 at 11 a.m. will also be on either ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU and surround a 7:30 p.m. tip on Feb. 13 vs. Ole Miss on the SEC Network.
Following a midweek matchup with Arkansas at home on Feb. 20 at 7:30 p.m. on the SEC Network, the Tigers are scheduled to face Kentucky on Feb. 23 at 12:30 p.m. on CBS. It will be Auburn's first appearance on the network since an 83-77 victory vs. Tennessee on Jan. 2, 2016. The Tigers are 14-13 all-time on CBS and have won three straight games, dating back to the 2007-08 season.
Auburn wraps up the road portion of its conference schedule with a pair of 8 p.m. tipoffs at Georgia (Feb. 27) and Alabama (March 5). The Tigers and Bulldogs will face off on ESPN2 or ESPNU, while the Tigers and the Crimson Tide are set to appear on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU or SEC Network.
Auburn will face Mississippi State in Auburn Arena on March 2 at 3 p.m. on either ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU.
The regular season wraps up with a battle of the two teams who clinched the SEC Championship last season in Auburn and Tennessee on March 9. Tip time is set for 11 a.m. on either ESPN or ESPN2.
All of the games included in the ESPN package (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and SEC Network) will also be available through the ESPN App, which is accessible on computers, smartphones, tablets and connected devices to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider. CBS Sports' coverage will be available to stream live via the CBS All Access subscription service, with additional coverage on CBSSports.com and CBS Sports HQ.
Conference play tips off Jan. 5, and runs through March 9. Each SEC team plays the other 13 teams at least one time during league play. They will then play their three permanent opponents a second time with the remaining two games changing annually. The sixth annual SEC/Big 12 Challenge will take place on Jan. 26.
The SEC is coming off another successful season as 10 teams advanced to postseason play in 2018, including a league-record eight teams that received NCAA Tournament bids. The league posted its best regular-season non-conference winning percentage (77.4 percent) in more than a decade, a number that includes a 6-4 win in the fifth annual Big 12/SEC Challenge.
The SEC Tournament returns to the Music City when Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn., hosts the event from March 13-17, 2019.
All of Auburn's games will be carried on the Auburn Sports Network. Non-conference tip times and television information will be announced at a later date.
